Golden Light Acupuncture, PC is a holistic family practice based out of New Paltz, NY.
We welcome patients of all ages and stages, from prenatal support, to pediatric and adult care. We are growing to meet patient demand in New Paltz and looking for the right person to join our team.
JOB TITLE: Licensed Acupuncturist + Herbalist
The Licensed Acupuncturist + Herbalist will contribute to the greater health of the New Paltz and surrounding communities by providing high quality acupuncture services to patients in Golden Light Acupuncture’s New Paltz office. You will work in collaboration with Golden Light’s acupuncturists and office staff, along with the diverse group of healthcare professionals with whom Golden Light Acupuncture collaborates with regularly.
EMPLOYMENT: Part-time (Approximately 20 hours per week to begin)
- 3-4 days per week with at least one evening shift (until 730pm)
- Times and days to be worked out with team schedule
IDEAL CANDIDATE: You are a licensed acupuncturist who has a grounding presence and an excitement to grow as a clinician. You are a team player, caring, attentive, and kind. You are trustworthy, reliable, honest, and compassionate. You thrive in a collaborative group. You have good communication skills and can resonate with patients of all ages and professionals of any background.
You are on a path of self-cultivation and looking to be the best person you can be. You want to join a growing family practice and are able and willing to treat children and adults, or open to learning. You have training in Chinese Herbal Medicine in addition to acupuncture and bodywork.
You have at least 2 years of clinical experience, ideally.
- Provide acupuncture treatments for patients
- Assist with various minimal administrative duties

The co-founders, Marika and Michael LaFemina, both treat patients through a variety of styles and modalities to deliver the best possible care to our patients, including Classical Chinese Acupuncture, TCM, Japanese Acupuncture, APM, Herbs & Supplements, Tui Na, Shiatsu, Cranial Sacral Therapy, and more. We have a world of diversity in our training and treatments and are continually learning through professional development and reflective practice. Larissa Sheldon is an acupuncturist and herbalist who treats trained in Five Element Acupuncture, Tui Na, and Pulse Diagnostics. You can read more about our team here.
Our intention for our office is to set up a beautiful sanctuary that is nourishing for patients and staff to be in. Coming to work is generally a pleasure – the patients feel the love in the office and amplify it. Our Office Manager keeps the office at a good vibe and takes care of all the little things to make our life easier. And, we are adjacent to the rail trail, where we get to watch the cascade of flowers through the season, take walks and bike rides, and occasionally forage for berries, herbs, and mushrooms.
- Active (or anticipated) New York State Acupuncture License with clean professional record
- Masters Degree (or Doctorate) from an accredited Acupuncture college.
- 2 years of professional experience in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ideal).
Computer skills: familiarity with Google Professional suite (Gmail/Docs/Calendar/etc), familiarity with Apple computer systems, general ability to perform computer tasks online and offline.
- Clinical work: starting at $40 per clinic treatment hour for first 3 months, then $45
- This is per hour with a patient – we overlap 2 patients at a time on the half hour
- $25 per administrative and training hour
- Paid time off: two weeks plus 10 holidays and 5 sick days
